Day 1 - Bike Ride
I began my first bike ride training with the park near my house called Ronan Park in Dorchester. I was excited to see the sites and how much ground i can cover on my bike! I needed to run a couple errands this day around the neighborhood. I biked to my friend's house to drop off something. Then I bike to the fields corner library to return some books. I later biked to the super market to buy some garlic and "quinoa" an awesome grain that helps athletes! It's really high in protein and good for your muscles! I really enjoy bike riding because it relaxes me and I plain to train hard each day rain or shine in order to ride the "RODMAN RIDE" for charity for kids. I really wish to help and support others and I feel this a great way to start. I chose to volunteer to ride on this ride through Bottom Line! An organization located in Jamaica Plain, MA that helped me get into college and go back to college! It's the least I can do to support them and help others! Wish me luck and please remember to donate at: http://BottomLine.kintera.org/2012/rogercruz

Life is Like the Sea
Conflicts will always rise in our lives. They are not barriers or defeats but simply obstacles that one needs to learn how to jump over. If I were to throw a baseball at you, you would either move to the side to dodge it or catch it with your hands. Both take personal effort to do and one may inflict pain on you but either way you overcame the obstacle. I was riding my bike today and it was great because I am coming to a point in my life were things are beginning to come together for the good and the worse. I see it as this: "The fight has just begun". It's time to put my strength and organization to the test. "Si se puede" said my
grandfather Segundo R.I.P. I don't think there is anything impossible in life because god may squeeze us but never choke us to death when it comes to putting an obstacle we are meant to work around. I have faith in myself and in god that I can figure out what is best for me. I have the serenity, the courage, and the wisdom to do what is better.
While I rode my bike today I noticed a couple things. First I noticed how the sky was cloudy and it made me realize how my mind was indeed feeling cloudy. Second I noticed the waves from the harbor were constantly moving but uniformed which I related as my own life. I kept looking at how the water took up so much space and how essential it is for life. It made me recognize how grateful I am that I have recently learned how to swim correctly. I need to work on my patience for my swimming stroke and breathing. Third I noticed that I was being very thoughtful about my current life situation.

Life is Beautiful
Yesterday I visited Rev. Vincent Voneuw in a nursing home located in South Boston, called The Marian Mannor, and it brought me great joy to see him. He was the priest who gave me my first communium when I was younger. He is gifted with great wisdom and it was a blessing to have found him once again. This was my second visit after a month since my first visit. He remember me and I brought him some gifts. One of the gifts was actually a portrait of the cross demonstrated in this picture below.
Rev. Vincent had this beautiful quote all around his room and it said this, "LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL". Everything he felt happy about something, he would say "That is just beautiful, you are beautiful". I brought great joy to my heart to hear such simple and humble words from a long time friend and mentor. As we age we may think that we grow weaker but Rev. Vincent shows me that is not always the case. He may not be as strong as he used to be physically but in the spiritual world of things he is a strong force you don't wish to mess with.
He also showed me what is "Gaspacho" and told me that his sister made the best "Gaspacho" which is like a red soup. I didn't wish to ask him for some, but I just took his word for it.
